Approved Repairers

RACT has over 50 Approved Repairers throughout Tasmania in the general areas of mechanical repair and servicing and a range of specialist fields. To become an RACT Approved Repairer, businesses must meet stringent standards in the areas of personnel, appearance, equipment, scope of services provided and customer service. RACT continuously monitors the performance of RACT Approved Repairers. Any RACT member who shows their membership card to an RACT Approved Repairer when discussing proposed repairs can expect:

1. On request, a written cost estimate that cannot be exceeded by 10% without your authorisation
2. Warranty on repairs against defective materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions for at least three months or 5000 km
3. On request, any replaced parts to be made available to you (not including parts to be returned to the manufacturers under warranty or exchanged policy)
4. Full cooperation with the RACT in the investigation and resolution of any dispute involving the repairer and the RACT member
5. In most cases a special RACT member discount or benefit, as part of the club's Show Your Card & Save program
6. Following repairs at an RACT Approved Repairer, participating repairers will provide a towing voucher up to the value of $50 for excess towing. Or, a second tow following RACT Roadside Service where your vehicle is towed back to the Approved Repairer.
