Some key features of our boat insurance cover include agreed value cover, cover for the reasonable cost of taking essential action, personal effects cover up to $800, cover for accidental damage, including accidental sinking and theft, and up to $10 million liability cover for accidental death, injury or property damage caused by your boat.

You can also add your choice of options*, such as water skiers’ liability (accidental death or bodily injury to a water skier towed by your boat) and sails/racing extension (damage to sails, mast spars and rigging if damaged by wind while racing inside the confines of a harbour, river, bay or inlet).

Essential Action

If your boat gets into difficulties or suffers accidental damage, we will cover you for the reasonable cost of taking essential action to:

• Remove your boat to safety;
• Minimise loss or damage; or
• Destroy your boat and remove debris if you are required to do so by a lawful authority, whichever is necessary in the circumstances.

You do not need our prior authority to take such action if it is an emergency and it is not practical for you to obtain it.

Personal Effects

Personal effects are items in your boat, including tools supplied as standard by the boat manufacturer or similar replacements, but NOT cash, any other tools or items used for any business, trade or profession.

Agreed Value

The amount we agree with you as the maximum we will pay in the event of a claim. The agreed value is specified on your current schedule.
